Pinot Noir

Our Pinot Nairs are produced from grapes grown at the McArthur Ridge Vinyard and is a careful selection off clones and location to give a Pinot Noir that is a true reflection of the unique terrior.

2013 Pinot Noir

Harvested at perfect ripeness, our grapes were hand plunged and then left to mature in French oak. The results are a Pinot Noir that is a reflection of the terrior and the winemaker's art.

Tasting notes:

Wonderful flavours of mulberries, cherries and bright red fruit combined with well integrated oak gives a stylish savoury complexity and velvety mouth feel. Gorgeous notes of dark berry, game, truffle and spicy oak combined with supple texture make this wine immensely attractive.

Bottled: March 2014

Gewurztraminer

Our Gewurztraminers are produced from grapes grown on some of the earliest vines planted in Central Otago. Planted nearly 30 years ago, the vines are thick and gnarled producing grapes of outstanding flavour.

Serve slightly chilled. These wines go exceptionally well with spicy food, such as a Thai curry, reflecting the ginger and lychee flavours of the wine.

2011 Gewurztraminer

Tasting notes:

The wine has a rich complex nose of ginger, orange peel and lychees. This is carried through to a rich and complex mouth filling palate, again of ginger, lychees and orange peel, with an almost oily texture. The wine ends with a very long, lingering finish.

Bottled: September 2011
Alcohol: 14.0% by Vol
Residual sugar: 13.7 g/l

2012 Gewurztraminer

Tasting notes:

The wine opens on the nose with subtle hints of Turkish delight and ginger, followed by lychees, quince and crushed rose petals. The palate leads with a full-bodied textural taste of lychees, orange zest and ripe grapefruit, finishing with a long lingering taste of spicy ginger and lychee.

Bottled: Otober 2012
Alcohol: 14.0% by Vol
Residual sugar: 16.1 g/l

"This is a beautifully smooth and detailed Gewurztraminer with underlying richness and weight. Match with Middle Eastern dishes over the next 3-4+ years. 5 stars"
